SHS Photo Contest 2023
Theme
In honor of World Refugee Day, we will be holding a photo contest, inviting all members of our organization/community to participate. This contest aims to pay tribute to the courage and resilience of refugees across the globe, highlighting their dedication to art as a powerful medium for expressing their unique experiences.The contest serves as a platform to recognize and honor the significant impact of art in the lives of refugees. Through their artistic endeavors, refugees are able to convey their stories, emotions, and journeys, providing a glimpse into their remarkable lives. We invite members from all walks of life to partake in this meaningful initiative. Whether you are an amateur or professional photographer, this contest welcomes your creative contribution. It is an opportunity for each participant to capture and share the essence of resilience demonstrated by refugees, conveying the strength, determination, and hope that characterizes their journey.
Participants are encouraged to submit their photo of the theme of “Hope away from home”: We encourage participants to explore and depict the myriad ways in which refugees find and create hope in unfamiliar surroundings. Whether it is through personal connections, cultural preservation, community support, or individual achievements, we encourage you to capture the spirit of hope that accompanies refugees on their journey towards a brighter future.
Additional Information
Who: Anyone!
When: Deadline to submit photographs to shavenheretohelp@gmail.com is July 18th!
What: Submit up to 2 photos with a brief caption to explain the connection to the theme.
How: You may use any medium to capture these photos (phones, digital cameras, film cameras, etc.).
Voting will be done by your peers and the community and contestant entries will be displayed on our Instagram page where they will be able to access the link to send in their votes.
Winners will be announced on July 21st at 7:30 PM EST and featured on the landing page of our website!
- Photos will be posted on our Instagram page on July 19th. The posts will be shared on our story on July 20th to start the 24-hour voting process.
